Funeral services for Mrs. Allie Jo Tolar, age 93, will be held 10 A.M., Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Walters' Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas. Rev. Richard Dahlgren, pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, will officiate assisted by Bro. Jack Smith, pastor of Calvary Christian Center. Interment will follow in Keechi Cemetery. A public visitation will not be held.
Allie Jo Tolar was born October 16, 1927 in Oakwood, Texas to Elia & Mamie (Sinclair) Keils. While in high school, she played volleyball. Allie lived in Dallas most of her life and worked for Sun Oil Company. She moved to Buffalo in 1977 and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in the Keechi Community of Leon County. Allie enjoyed being in the kitchen and was an excellent cook. She loved to entertain and dance and was usually the life of the party.
Allie passed away December 28, 2020 in Palestine, Texas. She was preceded in death by both of her parents and husband, Arthur N. Tolar.
Surviving family members include step-son, Gary Tolar of Buffalo; step-daughter, Judy Howell (Jim Holubar) of Buffalo; sister-in-law, Betty Landers of Paris; grandchildren, Kimberly Howell of Slidell, LA, Sherrille Gill of Melissa and Jodi Bainum of Palestine; great-grandchildren, Landon Seastrunk, Ayden Gill, Kai Bainum, Reid Bainum, Gavin Beem & Jacob Beem, as well as numerous cousins.
Pallbearers: Dennis Gill, Landon Seastrunk, David Perry, Rondal Mullenax, David Marvin, David Ferguson
Arrangements are under the direction of Walters' Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas.
