Bennie Holmer "Bubba" Stokes, Jr.

Graveside services for Bubba Stokes, age 66, will be held 11 A.M., Monday, August 17, 2020 at Resthaven Cemetery in Houston, Texas. A family visitation will take place Thursday, August 13, 2020 from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas.

Bennie Holmer Stokes, Jr. was born September 16, 1953 in Houston, Texas to Bennie, Sr. & Dolores (Robinson) Stokes. He had worked as an air conditioning repairman most of his life. Bubba enjoyed the beach, hanging out with his friends and sitting in his swing. He also enjoyed fishing and fish fries. Bubba had lived in the Buffalo and Palestine areas since November, 2014, coming from Houston. He passed away August 9, 2020 in Palestine, Texas.

Bubba was preceded in death by both of his parents and sisters, Mae Marie & Ginger Lee. Surviving family members include wife, Rebecca (Pate) Stokes of Buffalo; sons, Stephen Pate (Ruby Lechuga) of Buffalo and Brian Stokes of Buffalo; daughters, Amber Tisdel (Keith) of Canyon Lake and Amy Hays (Mark) of Kingwood; brother, Vernon “Pookie” Lee of Magnolia and grandchildren, Austin, Addie, Jeremy, Shelby, Caden, Aidyn and Casen. Bubba is also survived by nephews, Bennie & Sean and niece, Lisa.

Arrangements are under the direction of Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas.
