Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Jo Hargrove, 86, will be held 10 A.M., Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas. Rev. Ray Payne, pastor of Ephesus Baptist Church, will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Parker Cemetery in the Flo Community of Leon County, Texas. The family receive friends from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M., Wednesday, March 3rd at the funeral home.
Betty Jo (Beavers) Hargrove was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee December 13, 1934 to parents, Ralph & Ruby (Burgess) Beavers. She married her late husband, William “Bill” Hargrove June 17, 1959. Together they owned and operated a successful alternator business where Betty kept the books from 1968 to 2012. During this time, Betty developed a record keeping system that was recognized and eventually purchased by the IRS.
Betty was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church and enjoyed teaching children in Sunday School. She also liked listening to Christian music, drawing, painting and sewing. Betty especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren playing Chinese Checkers and Bad Mitten.
Betty passed away peacefully Sunday, February 28, 2021. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, William “Bill” Hargrove; siblings, Mildred Brouff, David & Ernest Beavers and Beverly Evertsen and great-granddaughter, Konlee Lane Hargrove.
Surviving family members include children, Patricia Moon, Robin Ferguson, Ricky Hargrove, Wayne Hargrove and Denise Williams; siblings, Jimmy Beavers, Darlene Bender and Ronnie Beavers; grandchildren, Andy Stevens, Twanna Ferguson Wilson, Deanne Ferguson, Kimberly Ferguson, Ricky Hargrove, Ryan Hargrove, Ray Martinez, Jystun Pruitt, Crystal Williams Goetz, Kristie Williams Rehders, Cynthia Williams Huddelston, Stacy Williams Henson, Courtney Williams Nichols and Heath Williams, as well as twenty-seven great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas.
