Bobby Ray Harris, a cherished father, grandfather, and friend, passed away January 30, 2025, in Waco, Texas. Bobby was born on February 16, 1946, in Pasadena, Texas to Carl B. and Eula Bell (Garmon) Harris. His family made their home in Buffalo, Texas when he was young, where he grew up to embrace the beauty of rural life.

A man of many talents and stories, Bobby Ray was a proud member of the Eagle Scouts in his childhood, a testament to his adventurous spirit. He graduated from Buffalo High School in 1964 and continued to pursue his education with great enthusiasm. He earned his Associate’s Degree from Navarro Junior College in 1967, and married his sweetheart, Judy Kay, on May 24, 1969. Bobby Ray went on to obtain his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Sam Houston State University in 1972 and 1979, respectively.

Bobby Ray was known for his love of the great outdoors. He cherished his time hunting and fishing and relished traveling with his beloved late wife, Judy. Bobby Ray had a rare gift for storytelling—he had many tales to tell, each one woven with humor and warmth. His friendships were a cornerstone of his life, and he genuinely enjoyed spending time with his many friends in the Buffalo community.

Bobby Ray's passion for life was beautifully matched by his fondness for working with his cattle and the joy he found in his grandchildren. He left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.

Bobby Ray Harris was preceded in death by both of his parents and beloved wife, Judy Kay Harris. He will be lovingly remembered by his son and daughter-in-law, Dana and Chanda Harris of Dawson; daughter, Tamara Harris of Huntsville; adored grandchildren, Grant Harris of New Braunfels and Rylee Hawkins of Stephenville; as well as numerous friends and extended family members.

A visitation will be held on February 7, 2025, from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M.at Walters' Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas. All who knew and loved Bobby are invited to join in honoring his life. A funeral service will be held at Calvary Christian Center on February 8, 2025, at 10 A.M., followed by interment in Buffalo Cemetery.
