Brandon Lee Housler, a faithful brother, son, friend, loving father and husband, and beloved member of the Dew, Texas community, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by family and friends, on August 21, 2024, at the age of 43. Born December 21, 1980, in Austin, Texas, Brandon was the son of Martin and Dawn Housler of Buffalo, Texas.
Brandon graduated from Groesbeck High School in 1999. After high school, he excelled in different fields of employment, including operating heavy equipment and managing an exotic deer ranch.
In February 2011, Brandon met Dorothy and her precious five-year-old daughter, Trinity. They became a family when Brandon and Dorothy married on November 11, 2011. On July 27, 2015, their family grew as they were blessed with their beautiful daughter, Emma. Brandon loved being a daddy.
Brandon's love for friends and family was evident in the many pool parties and get-togethers he would host. He always wanted people to come over and hang out. Brandon would not rest until everyone had food and drink, and a comfortable place to sit. Brandon's commitment to family was evident by the close relationship that he maintained over the years with his aunt Julie, cousin, Kym and their families. Brandon shared secrets with his uncle Howard that they both carried to the grave. They were especially close.
Brandon was an animal lover. His various pets included dogs, cats, a turtle, snakes, rats, rabbits, an iguana, birds, deer, and pigs.
Brandon's hobbies included fishing, hunting, fine cigars, mowing grass, swimming in his pool, and taking family vacations. His favorite vacations included cruises, the beach, the zoo, and the mountains.
Brandon's choice of music and movies reflected his love for life and adventure. He listened to anything that was patriotic or country. His movie choices included comedy, action and adventure. He had no time for anything slow or sappy.
If anyone wanted to know where Brandon stood on a subject, they only needed to ask. Brandon couldn't keep his opinion to himself, including his favorite president, Donald Trump. MAGA
Brandon was involved in his community. He volunteered with the Dew VFD and was active at Corinth Baptist Church. His pastor, Carl Clark, was one of his closest friends, and was there as Brandon left to meet his maker.
