Brian Lee Wodtke

Brian Lee Wodtke, 44, passed away June 23, 2021 at his home in Buffalo following a long, hard battle with cancer. He was born November 20, 1976 in Pickneyville, Illinois and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps immediately upon graduation from high school. Following his honorable discharge from the Marines, Brian attended Texas State Technical College in Waco and re-enlisted into the U.S. Navy following the events of 9/11. Brian later worked as a vehicle operator at Nucor Steel until his health began to decline. Brian had lived in Leon County for the past twelve years. His all time favorite pastime was freshwater fishing. If Brian could have fished all day, he would have done so.

Brian was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Lee Wodtke. He is survived by wife, Judith Wodtke; step-mother, Carrol Wodtke; son, Nick (Whitney) Brown; daughters, Chloe, Eldrea & Francis Steward; sister, Amanda (Alex) Mendez; step-sisters, Toby Guerrero & Becky Hullum and niece, Alexis Mendez, as well as best friend, Bruce McColl.

The Wodtke family will receive friends from 7 P.M. to 9 P.M., Monday, June 28, 2021 at the Wodtke residence. It is kindly requested that no food of any kind be brought or given.

Arrangements are under the direction of Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas.
