Carolyn "Sister" Slaughter

A graveside service for Carolyn "Sister" (Laningham) Slaughter will be held 10 A.M., Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Liberty Cemetery in Centerville, Texas. Josh Gafford will officiate the service. A public visitation will be held Wednesday, July 13 from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Walters' Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas.

Sister was a life-long resident of Buffalo, Texas. She was born in Buffalo June 11, 1935 to John and Mae (Brown) Laningham and was the oldest of five children. Sister enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing and going to the beach.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents; husbands, Alfred Hall and Ralph Slaughter; daughters, Johnette Clark and Janie Gafford and brothers, Elmo, John and Melvin Laningham. Left to cherish her memory include son, Sonny Taylor (Jamie) of Buffalo, Texas; sister, Shirley Helm of Buffalo, Texas; and grandchildren, Jeff Taylor, Chad Taylor, Brandi Stevens, Josh Gafford, Cullen Pickett and Hope Bailey, also eleven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Arrangements are under the direction of Walters' Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas.
