Chad Earl Mizell

Chad was born in Conroe, Texas. He was raised and lived in Buffalo, Texas. He was the first born child of Dennis and Judy Mizell and the first grandson of Maurice and Mary Ann Champion and of Buford Earl and Pat Mizell.

Chad was a loving husband to his wife Carrie and an amazing father to his three children, Kinsey, Clayton, and Cooper. Chad enjoyed working with the kids on their roping skills. One of his last projects was the custom baby bed he built for Cooper Earl. Chad was a man of many talents and was always willing to lend a hand, all you needed to do was ask. In addition to work Chad enjoyed cooking a great steak and feeding the masses. Chad loved the Fightin’ Texas Aggies.

He was a faithful and prayerful Christian man, he was baptized early in life at First Baptist Church of Buffalo where he grew his faith. Chad later became a member of Freestone Cowboy Church.

Chad was employed as the Distribution Center Manager for Cameron Ashley Building Products. He started with the company in 2003 as a truck driver while attending school at Texas A&M University. He advanced his career and moved into a position as an Operations Manager. He continued to further his career with the company and became a Branch Manager for 7 years. He was promoted to a Regional Sales Manager in 2014 and in 2015 became the Distribution Center Manager. Chad was known to go above and beyond for the company and his clients. He was a mentor to many of his colleagues during his time with the company. He continued to build relationships with those he worked with and those who worked for him.

Chad spent many hours working on the Mizell Ranch in Junction, Texas. He enjoyed managing the deer population for the hunters of the family. He built and filled feeders to prepare for the season. He had a great passion for the land he worked and enjoyed the time he was able to spend with his family on the property.

Chad spent many hours working rodeo events with his family. He started at a very young age still in diapers feeding bucking bulls with Pop. Then as a toddler he put out cedar stays with Bob and Tonya. When Chad was a teenager he helped Pop at the coal mine and then would go out to check bulls. You could say Chad was one who could eat, breathe and sleep rodeo. Chad spent the last five years working weekends for Champion Rodeo Company. The production, comradery, and public relations of the company had become Chad’s passion, he used the skills he acquired during his 18 years at Cameron Ashley to ensure the success of the multi-generational family business.
