Connie Janette Lathrop

Funeral services for Connie Lathrop, age 75 of Buffalo, will take place at 2 P.M., Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at the Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas. Bro. Ray Grissett and Bro. Johnny Veretto will officiate the service with interment following in the Buffalo Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M., Tuesday, February 6th at the funeral home.

Connie Janette Lathrop was born July 26, 1942, in Buffalo, Texas to Elmer & Alma (Waters) Parker. She was raised in Buffalo and was a 1960 graduate of Buffalo High School. Connie married Sonny Lathrop on January 23, 1960, while she was still attending high school. Following graduation, Connie attended beauty school and later opened her own beauty shop in Buffalo. She had also obtained her instructor’s license to teach in a beauty school.

Connie was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Buffalo and was very involved with the Ladies in Action Group. She loved arts and crafts, making her own jewelry and selling the pieces in her beauty shop. Connie also enjoyed crocheting and painting. She was a lifelong resident of Buffalo.

Connie passed away February 4, 2018, at her home. She was preceded in death by both of her parents and brothers, Arvel (Louise) Parker & Larry (Faye) Parker. She is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years, Sonny Lathrop; daughter & son-in-law, Cindy & Ricky McCoy of Groesbeck; grandson, Colt McCoy and great uncle, Wiley "Eldon" Waters. Connie is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
