Edna Irene LeGalley, went home to be with our Lord and savior Jesus Christ on June 15, 2022.
She was born on Easter Sunday, 1929 to parents, Otho Webb and Edna (Magouirk) Webb. She was the fifth of nine children and last surviving. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Ruby Leigh Powell, Louise Sypert, Lela Stubblefield, Mary Jo Creel, Billie Ruth Dewvall, Roy Webb, Glenn Webb, Harold Webb; and husband, Tim Nettles LeGalley; sons Tim LeGalley, Jr. and Ronnie LeGalley, and step-grandson, Jeff Cook.
Irene is survived by step-son, Billy Merritt and wife, Daisy; son, Harry LeGalley and wife, Bobbie Jo; son, Wendell LeGalley and wife, Robynn; daughter, Linda Rogers and husband, Tim; grandchildren, Lance LeGalley, Jeremy LeGalley, Roger Cook, Natalie Milliken, James Barto, Jeremy Barto, Cindy Jones, Randy Merritt and Kris Rogers and numerous great-grandchildren.
Irene loved the Lord and everyone. She loved her church, the Missionary Baptist Church, where she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and savior. She loved to share the gospel with everyone she came across.
She kept up with everyone’s birthdays and looked forward to the holidays knowing we would mostly all be together. All the birthday and Christmas cards she received were a treasure for her, she kept all of them.
She was born in Keechi, TX and as a kid she and her siblings would carry water from a neighbor’s (Dr. Brown) water well back to their home. She told us stories about the horses and wagons coming down the road. She lived in Keechi until she moved to Buffalo where she met and married her husband, Tim LeGalley in 1948. He was an self-employed mechanic and later in life drove a school bus for Buffalo ISD.
Irene enjoyed the simple things in life, like daily walks, picking berries, gardening, and making the best fried chicken and pear cakes among other favorites. Her life was busy with 5 children running around. She was dedicated to her family. She helped with the grandchildren, and when her Mother, Edna Webb was in the Buffalo nursing home, Irene would walk from her home to the nursing home to visit her sometimes daily. After she became a senior citizen, she looked forward to dining and visiting with the group of friends at the senior citizen building, and had many friends there.
At the age of 89 she moved into a nursing home in Kemp, TX, and still was able to have home visits with her family up until her last birthday in March. Everyone who knew her always said she was the sweetest person ever.
She was blessed to live 93 years 2 months and 15 days. She will be remembered as a part of one of the greatest generations who left us too soon. She will be missed until we all meet up in heaven.
Funeral services honoring Irene's life will be held 3 P.M., Sunday, June 19, 2022 at Walters' Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas. Bro. Johnny Veretto will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Nettles Cemetery in Buffalo, Texas. A brief visitation will take place from 2 P.M. to 3 P.M. Sunday prior to the service.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.
