Edwin Philip Miller, our beloved husband, daddy, papaw, and brother passed away into the arms of our Heavenly Father on Saturday, January 8, 2022. He was eighty-three years old. He was born on June 2, 1938 in Oakwood, Texas to Warren Philip Miller and Helen Ophelia (Tinsley) Miller.
He attended Buffalo schools and graduated from Buffalo High School in 1956. Upon graduation, he started his career with Missouri Pacific Railroad/Union Pacific Railroad. In 1961, he married his wife Alice McCoslin and they were blessed with two children, Lisa and Gary. They were married for 60 years. He retired in 2000 after forty-two years of service. He and Alice enjoyed the country life. He bought a tractor and started gardening. He enjoyed doing wood working projects and was always willing to oblige us when we asked, “can you build me this?” He loved music and playing his fiddle. He enjoyed watching all sports and was a lifetime Astros fan.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Alice; daughter, Lisa Bouis and husband Dwayne; son, Gary and wife, Kelly; six grandchildren, Ryan Bouis and wife Melissa, Justin Bouis and wife Paulina, Alyssa Shaw and husband Travis, Kristen Wylie and husband David, Eric Miller and Ethan Miller; five great-grandchildren, Olivia Bouis, Johnathan Bouis, Evan Shaw, Tucker Wylie and Sadie Wylie; sister, Frances Shinn; brother, Harold Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Billy Miller and infant brother, Johnny.
A brief visitation will take place at Waters’ Buffalo Funeral Home from 11:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. on Wednesday, January 12, 2022. A graveside service will follow at Sardis Cemetery in Jewett, Texas beginning at 2 P.M. Bro. Richard Dahlgren will officiate the service.
Arrangements are under the care of Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas.
