A funeral service for Erma Gaskin will be held at 12:00 noon, Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Bethel Baptist Church in Buffalo, Texas. Bro. Ray Grissett will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Marquez Cemetery, Marquez, Texas. A public visitation will take place from 10 A.M. until the time of service.
Erma Dean Gaskin, 86, of Buffalo, Texas passed away on July 30, 2023 in Buffalo, Texas. She was born on August 18, 1936 to John "Frank" and Edna Ethel (Norsworthy) Foster in Trinity, Texas. Erma was known as "Mamaw" by all of her grandchildren. She loved being a grandmother and watching all of the grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren grow up. Erma was a wonderful cook, and she provided many meals for her family. For years she sat with home health patients, keeping them company and providing care before their passing. She was also a devoted member of Missionary Baptist Church.
Erma was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Junior Lee Gaskin; brothers, Albert, Henry and James Foster; and sisters, Velma Norsworthy, Helen Williams, Ima Jean Kitchens and Ann Leverett. She is survived by her daughters, Wanda Gaskin of Buffalo, Texas, Brenda Lummus (Alvin) of Buffalo, Texas and Donna Johnson (Chris) of Jewett; grandchildren, Kevin Gaskin (Stacey), AJ Lummus, Melissa Ferguson (James), Douglas Johnson (Sarah), Kristy Steadman (Joey) and Carey Hausenfluck (Heath); great-grandchildren, Kannon Brantley, Kacen Brantley, Brody Gaskin, Tyce Gaskin, Christina Ferguson, Joyce Ferguson, Clayton Ferguson, Bristol Lummus, Katherine Rodriguez, Jaden Steadman, Kimber Hausenfluck, Nicholas Johnson and Caleb Johnson; great-great-grandchildren, Brett, Paisley, Branson, LJ, Beau, Deaglon and Pheonix; and sister, Julie Jordan of New Waverly, Texas.
