With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Freddy Gale Starns, who peacefully departed on May 21, 2024, at his home in Flo near Buffalo, Texas. He was born on October 30, 1949, to Leonard and Joyce (Dominy) Starns in Madison County, Texas. Freddy, a cattle buyer for Dallas City Packing, retired to his beloved ranch in the Flo Community, where he spent the last fourteen years of his life surrounded by the beauty of nature.
Freddy was a true outdoorsman who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. His retirement was filled with moments spent fishing, hunting, and cheering on his grandchildren at their countless sporting events. The bond he shared with his family was truly special, and his love for them was immeasurable. Whether tending to his cattle or meticulously caring for his tractor, Freddy found solace in the tranquility of his surroundings.
Freddy was preceded in death by both of his parents and grandson, Hunter Wilkerson. He will be deeply missed by his devoted spouse, Brenda Starns of Flo; children, Stacy Wilkerson (Jason) of Midlothian and Brad Starns (Robbie) of Flo; beloved grandchildren, Lauren Spurgeon (Cash), Drennan Starns, Grayden Starns, Asher Starns and Hynson Starns; siblings, Tommy Starns (Cindy) of Midway and Cindy Clopton (Gene) of Yukon, OK; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
In memory of a life well-lived, a funeral service celebrating Freddy's legacy will be held at Walters' Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 11 A.M. Following the service, Freddy will be laid to rest in Centerville Cemetery, Centerville, Texas. A time of visitation will take place prior to the service Friday from 10 A.M. to service time at the funeral home.
