Garry Daniel Wood

Funeral services for Garry Wood, age 54, of Dew, will be held at 2 P.M., Sunday, May 20, 2018 at the Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas. Pastor Timothy Hollingshed, of Faith Baptist Church, outside of Teague, will officiate the service. A visitation will be held from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M., Saturday, May 19th at the funeral home.

Garry Daniel Wood was born August 22, 1963 in Pasadena, Texas to Daniel Dee & Wanda Lee (Needham) Wood. Garry was raised in Pasadena and moved to the Dew area around 1992. He had worked in the tire business for several places in Buffalo and had most recently worked in the tire department of Walmart in Mexia. In his younger days, Garry loved to ride his motorcycle and was a Harley-Davidson fan. Once he moved to the country near Dew, he enjoyed being outdoors and deer hunting. Garry loved listening to classic rock music and was an avid gun enthusiast. Most importantly, Garry loved his family. His family meant the world to him, and he loved spending as much time with them as he could.

Garry passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at his home following a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and grandparents. Surviving family members include wife, Teresa Wood of Dew; children, Harley Ann Wood & Terry Daniel Wood of Dew; sisters, Syndi Wood of Buffalo and Teresa (Gordon) Skinner of Dallas; aunts, Betty Ray of Pasadena and Sandra Wood of Bryan and uncle, Charles Jennings of Houston. Garry is also survived by nieces & nephews, Johnnie Wilburn of Groesbeck, Chrisy Parker of Buffalo, Bruce Wilburn of Buffalo, Danielle (Chris) Crowson of Austin and Brandyn (Molly) Skinner of Bedford, as well as, many extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the Wood family requests that memorial donations be made to to Providence Hospice, 107 E. Commerce St., Mexia, TX 76667.
