Guy Burton Mullenax

Guy Burton Mullenax was born May 27, 1934 to Hiram and Hattie Mae Mullenax in Middleton, Texas. He passed away on December 3, 2022 while residing in the Watkins Logan State Veterans Home in Tyler, Texas. He was eighty-eight years old.

Guy is survived by five of his nine brothers and sisters; brothers, Monroe of Larue, TX and John of Tyler, TX and sisters, Shirley Mullenax Walker of Chandler, TX, Ruth Mullenax Christopher of Tyler, TX and Helen Mullenax Sullivan of Buffalo, TX. Preceding him in death was his father, Hiram; mother, Hattie; brothers, Howard, Carroll and Paul and sister, Judy Mullenax Curry.

Guy was married to Bonnie Jo Eason of Murchison, Texas for twenty-five years (says his soulmate), Verna Jean Featherston of Athens, Texas area and Pama Gamble Nelson of Palestine, Texas. He had no children. He spent a tour in the United States Marines and reserved for them after his tour. He served his country and was in the infantry in Korea. He earned a National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with one star, Good Conduct Medal, United Nations Service Medal and Korean PUC.

Guy spent most of his adult life as an automatic transmission mechanic while living in California and Texas. He loved his family and was devoted to his mother, Hattie. He loved bowling, hunting, mother's caramel pie and dominoes "42."

A memorial graveside service will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Keechi Cemetery. Bro. Richard Dahlgren will officiate the service. Funeral honors will be rendered by the United States Marine Corps.
