Hazel Marie Day

Hazel Marie Day, 73, of Joshua, Texas passed away on January 11, 2025. She was born on October 16, 1951. 

Hazel was the heart of her family, where gatherings were rich with laughter, love, and the warmth of her giving spirit. A passionate and creative individual, she enjoyed nothing more than immersing herself in crossword puzzles and sharing her love of Korean K-Pop with those around her. Hazel was also a faithful servant of her faith, finding solace and strength in her Bible, and singing with joy in a family band called "Warriors for Christ."

Hazel was preceded in death by both of her parents, Wilbert Earl and Anna Mae (Gordon) Neal; son, Daniel Mershawn; and sister, Virginia Flanery. She is survived by her daughter, Kathrine Lawhon (Kevin) of Godly, Texas; son, Brandon Mershawn of Cleburne, Texas; brother, Walter Seamons (Gina) of Waxahachie, Texas; sister, Anita Wilke of Quincy, Illinois; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service for Hazel will be at 3 P.M., Thursday, January 16, 2025, in Brushy Cemetery. Bro. Johnny Veretto will officiate the service. A public visitation is scheduled from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M., prior to the service, at Walters' Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas.
