Homer Lee Merriman

November 20, 1945 — December 5, 2024

Jewett, Texas

Homer Lee Merriman left this world peacefully on December 5, 2024, at the age of 79. Born on November 20, 1945, in Palestine, Texas, Homer was the cherished only son of Walter Clifford and Mary Leona (LeGallez) Merriman. He lived a life rich in purpose and dedication, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Homer was a proud longtime resident of Jewett, Texas, where he dedicated many years serving his community as a pharmacist until his retirement in 2017. His commitment to healthcare was matched only by his love for the land, and after retiring from pharmacy, he returned to his roots as a full-time rancher, embodying the spirit of hard work and resilience that defines Texas ranch life.

Homer was preceded in death by both of his parents. He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Toby Merriman (Alesha) of College Station; triplet grandchildren, Harper, Braxton, and Oren; and sisters, Zeta Robeson (Sammy) of Palestine, Kathy Nowotny (Kenneth) of New Castle, PA, and Robbin Odom of Lake Charles, LA. His family and friends will hold him in their hearts, reminiscing about the countless stories he shared and the warmth he brought into their lives.

A funeral service will be held in Homer's honor on December 10, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Walters Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas where family and friends can gather to celebrate his life. Prior to the service, a visitation will take place at the from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, allowing those who loved him to share heartfelt memories and condolences.
