Bubba Flanary, age 65, passed away April 9, 2019 in Tyler, Texas following a brief illness. A public visitation has been scheduled for Friday, April 12, 2019 from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas.
Born as James Chester Flanary, Jr. January 29, 1954 in Pasadena, Texas, his parents were James, Sr. & Evelyn (Anderson) Flanary. He was raised in the Catholic Church and had lived in Buffalo since 1984, coming from the Houston metroplex. Fondly known as “Bubba,” he had worked for Buffalo ISD as the driver of bus #5 for twenty-one years. He also helped with maintenance of the school, as well as, working as a mechanic on the buses. Following his retirement from BISD, Bubba worked for the City of Buffalo for ten years. He enjoyed deer hunting and woodworking and was a life member of the Cossacks Motorcycle Club.
Bubba was preceded in death by both of his parents; first wife, Annette Flanary; second wife, Karen Flanary; sister & brother-in-law, Judy & Doug Kutta and sister & brother-in-law, Patsy & Mark Harrison.
Bubba’s surviving family members include sons, Jesse Flanary (Amanda) of Lott and Eddie Quebodeaux (Audra) of Houston; sister, Linda Seaton (Richard) of Jacksonville; brothers, Cisco Davis, Uncle Byron and many others and grandchildren, Lance, Cadence, Charlie, Natalie and Lucas. He is also survived by nieces, Sandra Escalante, Lisa Kutta, Misty Seaton and Breanna Harrison and nephews, Timothy Palmer and Raymond Segura.
Arrangements are under the direction of Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas.
