James Dee Magouirk, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2024 in Fairfield, Texas. Born on September 22, 1956, in Fairfield, Texas, James lived a fulfilling life dedicated to hard work, family, and the simple joys of life. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
James was a proud graduate of Buffalo High School and spent most of his life in his cherished hometown of Buffalo, Texas. Known for his skills as a heavy equipment operator and his diverse range of talents, James enjoyed his work as an independent contractor, frequently taking on various projects with enthusiasm and diligence.
An outdoorsman at heart, James found solace and joy in nature. He could often be found at the lake, fishing and hunting, creating treasured memories with friends and loved ones. James embraced the ranching lifestyle, taking great pride in caring for his cattle and tending to the land he held dear.
In addition to his passion for the outdoors, James was known as a jack of all trades. Whether it was tinkering with machinery or lending a helping hand to neighbors, his willingness to lend his skills and expertise was unmatched. He possessed a genuine and caring nature, always willing to go above and beyond for those in need.
James is survived by his loving daughter, Misti Magouirk of Buffalo; sisters, Linda Sue Wilson of Allen and Gay Nell Hundley (Allen) of Anna; sister-in-law, Lisa Garner Burns; brother-in-law, Allen Griffith; nieces and nephews, Adam Hundley, Stephanie Berry, Dee Mauldin, Anderea Dunn and Megan Burns; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
James was predeceased by his parents, as well as his loving wife, Nejlah Magouirk, and his son, Carl D. Magouirk.
A family-led graveside service and celebration of James Dee Magouirk's life will be held 3 P.M., Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Keechi Cemetery.
James touched the lives of many with his warm smile, generous spirit, and his unwavering commitment to his loved ones. His memory will be treasured, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace.
Arrangements are under the direction of Walters' Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas.
