Mitchell Davis, age 64, of Buffalo, Texas passed away suddenly August 11, 2023 at his home in Buffalo. A celebration of his life will be held 2 P.M., Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Calvary Christian Center, Oakwood, Texas. Pastor of the church, Jack Smith will officiate the service assisted by Mitchell's brother, Pastor Chuck Davis of Celebration Church, Buffalo, Texas. A time of visitation and reflection will take place Tuesday evening, August 15th, from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Calvary Christian Center.
James "Mitchell" Davis was born September 23, 1958 in Houston, Texas to Jimmie Stanley & Mary Louise "Sue" Davis. He had lived most of his life in Buffalo and was a well known face around the area. He retired from a successful career at Nucor Steel and was the owner of Gilliam's Grocery in Buffalo, along with his late wife, Lauri Gale. Mitchell enjoyed spending time on his land and working his cattle. He also loved to host family gatherings, spend time with his grandchildren, as well as play cards and dominoes. Mitchell had a unique sense of humor and always got a kick out of instigating and joking with people. He also had a nickname for literally everyone he knew.
Mitchell was preceded in death by both of his parents and wife, Lauri Gale (Gilliam) Davis.
Surviving family members include companion, Cindy Hillis of Buffalo; children, Julie Hinojosa ("T") of Fredericksburg, Karen Davis of Round Rock and Todd Davis (Kaitlyn) of Buffalo; brothers, Chuck Davis (Lynn) of Buffalo and Robert Davis (Sheila) of Buffalo; sister, Brenda Grigg (Tim) of Kosse and grandchildren, Cristian, Daniel and Jaxon Hinojosa, as well as a granddaughter on the way (Lauri Anne Davis).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mitchell's name are kindly requested to the American Heart Association or the Calvary Christian Center.
Arrangements are under the direction of Walters' Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas.
