Funeral services for Johnnie Reeder, age 94, of Buffalo, will be held at 10 A.M., Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Buffalo. Rev. Alan Grisham will officiate, and interment will follow in the Buffalo Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M., Tuesday, October 3rd at the Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo.

Johnnie Reeder was born on October 11, 1922, in Greenville, Texas. Her parents were John Henry and Lessie (Daniel) Reeder. After her graduation from Greenville High School, she worked a few years in Dallas in a factory making pants for soldiers during WWII. Her sister and brother-in-law, Laura & Bill West, introduced her to Ben Reeder, a handsome sailor from Buffalo. They were married September 22, 1945, in Buffalo, where they lived for fifty years until Ben’s death.

Johnnie was a member of the Eastern Star and First Baptist Church, where she had taught Bible classes. She loved to cook for her family, garden, tend to her cows and fish at the ranch and at Stanmire Lake.

Johnnie passed away at home in Buffalo on Sunday, October 1, 2017. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Ben Reeder; sister-in-law, Bernadine (Paul) Hawes; brothers, Walter, Jack & John Reeder; sisters, Ruth Stovall, Elsie Brum and Laura West. Surviving family members are sons, Boyd (Dana Lynn) Reeder, Mack (Margarita) Reeder and Bob (Jan) Reeder; grandchildren, Danny (Cyndi) Reeder, Brent (Karey) Reeder, Debbie (Mike) Kennedy, Shaine (Jackie) Reeder, Marty (Sarah) Reeder, Elizabeth (Eddie) Madrigal and Laura (Sean) Driggers; great grandchildren, Tarra Reeder, Shelby (Kyle) Read, Ben Reeder, Emma Reeder, Brendan Kennedy, Colt Reeder, Clay Reeder, Isaac Reeder, Henry Reeder, Andrew Madrigal, Sebastian Madrigal, Reed Madrigal, Charles Driggers and Jack Driggers.

Pallbearers: Danny Reeder, Brent Reeder, Mike Kennedy, Shaine Reeder, Marty Reeder, Eddie Madrigal and Sean Driggers. Honorary pallbearers: Ray Gaskin, Camilo Guerrero, Ben Reeder, Kyle Read and Isaac Reeder.

The Reeder family would like to especially thank Debbie Kennedy and Maggie Reeder for their special care of Mrs. Reeder.

Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
