Linda Ann Young

Linda Ann Rhodes Young, age 71, of Buffalo, Texas was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma on March 16, 1948. She passed away in Dallas, Texas on December 6, 2019. Her parents were John Arlen Hailey, Sr. and Annabelle Turner Hailey.

A visitation and funeral service has been scheduled for Monday, December 9, 2019 at Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1 PM and will run until 3 PM. The funeral will begin at 3 PM. The interment service is scheduled for 1 PM, the next day, Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at the Old Hardin Cemetery near Kountze, Hardin County, Texas. The services will be officiated by Rev. Bill Young, brother-in-law of the deceased.

Linda Rhodes moved from Beaumont to Buffalo in 1982. Linda became a legal secretary for Gayle Wilson Ray and worked for her several years. Linda and William “Alton” Young met while both were in Leon County and married on April 3, 1993. Linda and Alton really enjoyed their “country–living” years.

Linda was very close to her family and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was cherished by her family. She was preceded in death by her father, John Hailey, Sr.; her parents, Annabelle and S.L. Mudd and a daughter, Shawn Jolly.

Surviving family includes her husband, Alton Young; her son, Chase Rhodes (Melanie) (and family Jaysea, Bayleigh, Hannah); her daughter; LaRae Rhodes-Williams (and family Carlie, Katie, Cody); brother, John Arlen Hailey Jr.; three step-sons and one step-daughter: Achie Young (Bonne) and family, James Young and family, Johnny Young (Jenny) and family and Brenda Young-Eaton (Brad) and family; twenty-one grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
