Lou Ellen Golden

Funeral services for Lou Ellen Golden, age 75, of Huntsville, and formerly of Buffalo, will be held at 12 Noon, Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at the Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas. Pastor Russell “Red” Etzel will officiate the service, and interment will follow in the Siloam Cemetery south of Buffalo. A visitation will take place Tuesday, December 19th from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the funeral home.

Lou Ellen Golden was born on February 3, 1942 in Houston, Texas. Her parents were John Dudley & Christine Allaire (Beinhorn) Golden. Ms. Golden was a 1960 graduate of Conroe High School. She continued her education at the University of Houston, where she earned a Bachelors degree in Education, and Sam Houston State University, receiving a Masters degree in Education.

Ms. Golden taught for Conroe I.S.D. and was a counselor with Tri County M.H.M.R. She was also a teacher and counselor for Buffalo I.S.D. She enjoyed reading, traveling and gardening. Throughout her life, Ms. Golden had lived in Houston, Spring, Conroe, Buffalo and Huntsville and was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Centerville. Ms. Golden passed away on the morning of December 18th, 2017 in Huntsville, Texas.

Ms. Golden was preceded in death by her father, John Dudley Golden and sister, Cynthia Jane Belyeu. Surviving family members include mother, Allaire Golden of Buffalo; daughters & sons-in-law, Rachel & Tim Mitchell of Shepherd, Madelyn & Randy Kilgore of Huntsville and Tina Hanson of Huntsville; sister, Mary Ann Champion of Buffalo and brothers, John Arthur & Richard Dean Golden, both of Buffalo. Ms. Golden is also survived by grandchildren, Shelby Allen, Sloane Hanson, Kelsey Kilgore and Brody Kilgore and great grandchild, Daylee Raglin.

Pallbearers: Jessy Champion, National Champion, Justin Golden, Travis Golden, Brody Kilgore and Delano Raglin.

In lieu of flowers, Ms. Golden’s family requests that memorial donations be made to a charity of choice.

Arrangements are entrusted to Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas.
