Graveside services for Loyd Kelly, Jr., age 86, of Buffalo, will be held at 2 P.M., Sunday, June 17, 2018 at the Russell Cemetery west of Buffalo. A visitation will take place from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M., Saturday, June 16th at the Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo.
Mr. Kelly was born October 4, 1931 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Loid & Lallie (Morgan) Kelly. He worked as a painter and did various other construction work including carpentry and roofing. He had also been an operator of heavy equipment and worked on the Gasaway Ranch. Mr. Kelly considered being a father his most important job. He had worked hard his entire life to provide for his family. He had lived in Buffalo since 1959.
Mr. Kelly passed away June 13, 2018 at his home in Buffalo. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; brothers, Colin, Jack, Joe & Robert Kelly; sister, Maggie Driver; grandsons, Raymond Harrison and Tim Melton and great grandchildren, Brianna & Trevor Sanders. He is survived by wife, Jeroldine Kelly of Buffalo; son, John Wayne Kelly (Linda) of Buffalo; daughters, Joy Dean Melton of Buffalo, Lillie Mae Nettles of Buffalo, Bobbie Jean Ivy (J.D. Boyd) of Buffalo, Joanie Marie Taylor of Venus, Barbara Brooke of Buffalo, Susan Rodell (Jeff) of Buffalo and Nancy Harrison of Buffalo; brothers, Bo Kelly (Betty) of Madisonville and sisters, Mary Alice (Dollie) of Kurten and Margie Robinson (Stanley) of Madisonville. Loyd is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-eight great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild with another one the way.
Arrangements are under the direction of Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas.
