Funeral services for Margie L. Morris, age 76, will be held 2 P.M., Friday, August 14, 2020 at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church in Buffalo, Texas with Father Luis Roncancio, officiating. Interment will follow in Buffalo Cemetery. A rosary & visitation will take place Thursday, August 13th from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas. Pallbearers will be Casey Privette, Christopher Privette, Mark Davis, Andy Reed, Brendon Smith and Eddie Duke. Honorary Pallbearers will be Landon Reed and Alic Callaway.
Margie was born September 29, 1943 in Eagle Lake, Texas to Clifton and Louise Brasher. She was raised with eight brothers and sisters and loved every minute of it. Margie graduated from Eagle Lake High School in 1961, then attended Wharton County Junior College. In 1962, she married John D. Morris from East Bernard, Texas and together they had three children, Eileen, Dorothy and David. Margie was a founding member of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church where she was an active member until her death.
Margie liked working in her yard and gardening. Her love was fishing and hunting, but her biggest joy was being surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton & Louise Brasher of Sealy; brothers, Speedy & wife, Bebe Brasher of Huffman, Benny Brasher & ex-wife, Liz of Columbus and Fred Brasher of Sealy.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, John D. Morris of Buffalo; daughters, Eileen Davis of Tennessee Colony, Dorothy Cadenhead of Oakwood and son, David Morris of Buffalo. Grandchildren are Casey Privette of Waco, Stephanie Reed (Andy) of Tennessee Colony, Mark Davis (Megan), Christopher Privette (Genia Beshears), Kayla Morris (Eddie Duke), Rachel Smith (Brendon), all of Buffalo. Great-grandchildren are Landon & Piper Reed of Tennessee Colony, Riley & Cason Davis, Alic & Alexia Callaway, Hadley Privette, Brenton Rutledge & Maddox Duke, all of Buffalo. Margie is also survived by her sisters, Georgie Pilcik (Joe) and Lois Frank (Alan) all of Katy, JoAnn Herbrig (Ricky) of Bellville; brother, Charles Brasher (Janice) of Huffman; sister-in-law, Betty Brasher of Sealy along with numerous nieces & nephews.
Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas is entrusted with final arrangements.
