Mary Kathern Williams

Funeral Services for Mary Kathern Williams, age 54, of the Flo Community in Leon County, will be held 2 P.M., Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Walters' Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas. Bro. Ray Grissett will officiate the service. Following the funeral service, Mary will be laid to rest near her father in Wheelock Cemetery. A public visitation will take place Tuesday, June 4th at Walters' Buffalo Funeral Home from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M.

Mary was born January 25, 1965 in Fairfield, Texas. She was soon diagnosed with Morquio Disease, and her family was told that she would only live to the age of twelve. This past January marked fifty-four years that Mary lived on this earth before she was called to be with Jesus Sunday, June 2, in Tyler, Texas. At the age of seventeen, Mary invited Jesus to be the Lord of her life. She loved attending church and especially loved her church family. The Lord blessed Mary with many loving family and friends who, along with her mother and father, played a great role in her Christian upbringing. Mary was a life-long resident of the Flo Community in Leon County, as well as, a life-long member of Flo Baptist Church. Her absence will leave a hole in the hearts of all who loved and knew her.

Mary was preceded in death by her father, Evan "Jack" Williams. She is survived by mother, Eva Nell Williams of the Flo Community; brothers, George Williams (Barbara) of the Flo Community, Mike Williams (Diana) of Bullard and Malcolm Williams (Paula) of Tyler; sister, Glenda Moreland (Robert) of the Flo Community; ten nieces and nephews and eighteen great nieces and nephews, as well as, numerous friends and extended family.

A special thank you is extended to the following individuals: Karen Lee, for helping Mary at church; Leslie Lee, for sitting next to Mary for over forty-six years; Jacob Dunn, who was a special friend to Mary; Parker Thompson, who also helped Mary at church; Paula Smith, for all of the cards and letters she sent to Mary; the Church of Christ, for their cards sent to Mary and Jacki Thompson, for caring for Mary. A heartfelt thank you is also extended to Mary's many friends and especially her brothers and sisters and all of the help they gave to Mary during her life.
