Funeral services for Minnie Stanton, age 76, of Buffalo, Texas, will be held at 10 A.M., Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at the Walters Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo. Pastor Jack Smith, of Calvary Christian Center, will officiate the service and interment will follow in the Parker Cemetery in the Flo Community of Leon County. A visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 25th from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Minnie Lou Stanton was born on November 19, 1940 in Corsicana, Texas to Gilbert Pete and Pearl (Keel) Pate. She attended Centerville High School and lived her whole life in the Leon County area. Minnie was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker, and she was well known for her cleanliness. She never stopped moving and going by always keeping herself busy with house cleaning and chores. Minnie attended the Assembly of God Church when she was able. She passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2017 in Fairfield, Texas.
Minnie was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Floyd W. Stanton and brothers, Jerry D. Pate & Doug Pate. Surviving family members include sons, Wayne Stanton and Allen Stanton (wife, Wendy), all of Buffalo; brothers, Leroy Pate (wife, Wanda) of Murchison, Nevelin Pate (wife, Jamie) of the Ninevah Community and Randy Pate (wife, Kaye) of the Flo Community; sister, Sue House (husband, Billy) of Tool and granddaughter, Jalie Stanton. Minnie is also survived by eight nephews and two nieces.
Pallbearers: Jason Pate, Chris Pate, Stephen Pate, Watson House, Jerry House and Brian House. Honorary Pallbearer: Michael Perez.
Walters Buffalo Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
