Mitchell Daniel Rector

Mitchell Daniel Rector was born September 25, 1985 in Turlock, California and tragically passed away October 18, 2021 in Mesquite, Texas at the age of thirty-six.

Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Celebration Church, Buffalo, Texas, and interment will follow in Buffalo Cemetery. The public is invited to attend a visitation from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M., Friday, October 22nd at Walters' Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas.

Mitchell was the son of Bartley Rector and Jacqueline “Jackie” Warren. He grew up in both Texas and California and graduated high school in California. Mitchell desired to be a police officer so he attended and graduated from the law enforcement academy. He served most of his eleven year employment as an officer of the law in Buffalo and was currently employed with Oakwood City Police Department at the time of his death.

Mitchell was a gifted young man with a musical ability like no other. While in high school, Mitchell wrote and sang numerous songs for his mother and family and eventually became a member of the band, “Aliens In Bowties,” a group that had several hit songs with radio airtime in California. Mitchell was also a talented artist who loved to draw. The most important two people in Mitchell’s life were his boys. Mitchell was a devoted father to both of them and he relished his time spent with them. Mitchell’s untimely passing will leave a hole in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Mitchell was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Deloris Valentine & Richard Reynolds. He is survived by his father, Bartley Rector of San Francisco, CA; mother, Jackie Warren of Buffalo; sons, Christian Mitchell Rector of Buffalo and Colton Michael Rector of Buffalo; paternal grandparents, Gerald & Rebecca Rector of Manteca, CA; brother, Michael Rector (Melissa) of Brentwood, CA; sisters, Janet Griffiths (Cory) of Tyler and Elizabeth Rector of Stockton, CA and nine nieces and nephews, Gabriel, Madison, Faith, Gavin, Gannon, Adrianna, Isabella, Sophia, Grayson, Chelsea and Annabelle, as well as a host of extended family, friends and coworkers.
