Nathanael Thomas Young

Nathanael Thomas Young, age 26, of Oakwood, Texas passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023 at his home in Oakwood. He was born January 21, 1997 in Georgetown, South Carolina to parents, Jackson, Jr. and Kelly Young. Nathanael was a graduate of Buffalo High School where he was a member of the High School Band, a Cross Country Track team member and 4-H Shooting Sports team member.

Following his time in high school, Nathanael worked as a truck driver for US Express. In his free time, he enjoyed riding four-wheelers, working on his truck and tinkering with any electronic gadget he could get his hands on. Nathanael attended Calvary Christian Center.

Nathanael will most fondly be remembered for his generous, kind and giving nature. He enjoyed helping and doing for those less fortunate than himself and did so with a smile on his face and no expectations in return.

Preceding Nathanael in death are his father, Jackson David Young, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Jackson David, Sr. & JoAnn (Port) Young; maternal grandparents, Spurgeon Calvin & Elinor Nadine "Memmaw" (Martin) Pickens and aunt, Kim Young.

Surviving family members include parents, Brent & Kelly (Pickens) Bing; siblings, Amanda Young (Marissa), Matthew Young (Jill) and Calvin Young (Heather); aunts and uncles, Kerry Pickens (Janet), Becky Epley (Jeff), Glenda Casey and Jeff Young, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.

Funeral services honoring Nathanael's life will be held 1 P.M., Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Calvary Christian Center near Oakwood, Texas. Pastor Jack Smith will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Pickens Cemetery in Freestone County. A time of visitation will take place Friday, March 17th from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at Walters' Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas.
