Odis Brent Holman, Jr. 90, of Buffalo, Texas passed away on February 7, 2022 in Buffalo, Texas. He had been living in Buffalo for about two years, coming from Winterhaven, Florida. He was born to Odis Brent Holman, Sr. and Laura (Rogers) Holman on July 7, 1931 in Middlesbrough, Kentucky. Odis served for the United States Army as a Master Sergeant E8, after retiring in 1972, he became Minister and was ordained through the Assemblies of God. He enjoyed helping people and spreading the good news about Jesus to everyone he came in contact with. He served in Teen Challenge in Germany helping and ministering to addicts and homeless people. He and his wife Zella also opened a Coffee House Mission called the Open Door Mission. Odis loved his family, especially the love for his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed the country life more than anything. He spent nearly every summer in West Virginia working on the family farm and during the last 2 years in Buffalo "Keechi" Texas. He loved watching the crops grow in the garden and gathering eggs from the chickens, feeding the cows and watching them grow and produce. To him the country life was a little taste of what heaven would be like.
He was preceded in death by both parents; wife, Zella Mae Holman; sisters, Boots Birchett, Pauline Rose and Jerry Cadell. Left to cherish his memory include son, Dale Holman; daughters, Lillian “Linda” Kielmansegg, Cheri Moore and Monica Ticknor; brother, Larry Holman; sister, Nell Evans; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas.
