Powell Odell Ward

Powell Odell Ward, aka "Butch," was born in Buffalo, Texas on February 27, 1946, and passed away on February 1, 2025, in Buffalo, Texas at the age of 78 years, 11 months and 5 days. 

Butch was born and raised in Leon County. He joined the Army and traveled the world. He came back to Leon County to start his life with Weonah Latham. He was employed by Champion Mobile Homes for thirty years and had a mechanic shop in Buffalo where he worked after hours. 

Butch is survived by his daughter, Mary Kuykendall; granddaughter, Shelby Bell; and great granddaughter, Abigail Bell all of Buffalo, Texas; sister, Diana James of Buffalo, Texas; brother, Luther Ward of Waco, Texas; nephews, Michael Ward, Robert James and Wayne Ward, Jr.; and nieces, Sheri Arteaga and Vickie Gonzales. He was proceeded in death by his wife of fifty-four years, Wenonah Ward; parents, Alvis and Lee Lorene Ward; and brother, Alvis Wayne Ward. 

A memorial service for Butch Ward will be 10 A.M., Saturday, March 1, 2025, at The Way Church in Buffalo, Texas.
