Rosie Lee Robinson

Rosie Lee Robinson, a beloved resident of Buffalo, Texas, peacefully passed away on November 5, 2024, at the age of 89 in Palestine, Texas. Born on August 20, 1935, in Austin, Texas, Rosie was the cherished daughter of Fritz and Lillie (Siggel) Oertli. In her pursuit of education, she earned a nursing degree from Breckenridge School of Nursing, shaping her compassionate spirit from an early age.

Rosie's life journey led her and her husband from Pearland to Buffalo in 1974, where they opened the Western Auto store. Displaying her dedication to caring for others, she soon returned to nursing after a brief period assisting at the store. Notably, Rosie's impact extended beyond her professional endeavors as she became a pioneer in the establishment of hospice care in Leon County, earning her the esteemed title of Citizen of the Year in recognition of this outstanding achievement.

Having served as the Director of Nursing at Buffalo Hospital and dedicated member of First Baptist Church in Buffalo, Donie, and Jewett, Rosie's commitment to her community and faith was unwavering. She found joy in teaching Sunday school, continuously spreading love and wisdom to those around her.

With her infectious smile and warmth, Rosie was a beacon of light in the lives of her family. Her caring nature, selflessness, and dedication to serving others left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Preceding Rosie in death were both of her parents; husband, Stanley Robinson; sister, Genivieve Tart; and brother, Freddie Oertli. Those left to cherish Rosie's memory are children, Bryan (Judy) Robinson of Franklin, Glenn (Jill) Robinson of Lake Limestone, Sharon (Kevin) Hammond of Jewett, and Christie Rayborn (Alan) of Oakwood; sister, Frieda Davidson of Forney; nine grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren with one on the way; and numerous extended family and close friends.

The Robinson family would like to acknowledge the kindness and compassion of Heart to Heart Hospice, as well as Brookdale Assisted Living, and for the excellent care given to Rosie.

A time of visitation will take place at 1 P.M., Thursday, November 7, 2024, followed by funeral service to honor Rosie's remarkable life at 2 P.M.
