Sue Carolyn Davis was born May 9, 1939, the daughter of Moses & Dorothy Lain of Edinburgh, Indiana. She was a homemaker and housewife while her children were in school. After they were grown, Sue trained to be a truck driver and joined her late husband, John, as a team truck driver for seven years. Together, they traveled through forty-eight states and also to four Providences of Canada. Sue and John were long-time supporters of the Flo Community Center and dedicated members of North Creek Baptist Church. Sue enjoyed volunteering in the food pantry at North Creek Baptist Church for a number of years. She, John and their family were a music loving group. John was an expert Banjo and Guitar player, and Sue loved listening to him play. Sue had a way with animals and enjoyed keeping miniature horses and donkeys until her declining health prohibited her from doing so. Sue was known by many as the "Candy Lady" because she gave out mints with scriptures on them. This was her way of planting God's seeds.
Sue passed away at her daughter's home in Spring, Texas on January 18, 2023. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband of fifty-two years, John Davis and son, John Michael Davis. She leaves behind six children, Revia Merimon of Houston, Rebecca Branstetter of Scipio, IN, Alan Hadley of Russel Springs, KY, Charles Davis of Ekron, KY, Sherry Eberle of Spring and James Davis of College Station, as well as her dog and best buddy, "Little Bit." Sue is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren; forty-five great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren.
Final arrangements are under the direction of Walters' Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas.
