Thomas Oren "Tom" Stanton

Tom Stanton, 59, of Whitehouse, Texas and formerly of Buffalo, Texas passed away December 14, 2021 in Tyler, Texas following an extended illness. He was born Thomas Oren Stanton, December 21, 1961 in Buffalo, Texas to parents, James & Mildred (LeGalley) Stanton.

Tom was raised in Buffalo, Texas where he also began his own family. While in Buffalo, he owned and operated a contracting company, Stanton Construction, and a cabinetry business, Buffalo Woodworks. Tom and his family relocated to Whitehouse in 2011 where he worked as an Insurance Adjuster. This line of work took him all over the United States

Anyone who knew Tom knew that he enjoyed life and enjoyed having fun. Being outdoors was where Tom wanted to spend his time. His favorite activities included deer, hog and duck hunting, fishing, and occasionally making items, such as, smoke bombs, helium bombs or rockets that Tom liked to “blow up.” Tom was also a man who was always tinkering with or making something. He loved studying and researching things that interested him. Tom could quote anything you needed out of the bible. His generous and giving nature always found him helping out a friend or stranger in need.

Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Harlan; brother, James “Jim” Stanton, Jr. and infant daughter, Sarah Marie Stanton. Surviving family members include father, James Stanton, Sr. of Fairfield; wife, Pamela Stanton of Whitehouse; son, Spencer Stanton of Whitehouse; daughters, Stephanie (Joseph) Jennings of Gilmer and Shelby Hollister of Whitehouse; grandchildren, Rainy, Millie, Aiden, and Zoey and sister-in-law, Martha Stanton, as well as numerous extended family and friends.

A funeral service honoring Tom’s life will be held 2 P.M., Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas. Bro. Johnny Veretto will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery, Buffalo, Texas. The Stanton family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. at the funeral home.
