Thomas “Widetrack” Rayborn, Sr., age 89, passed away January 2, 2021 at his home. A public visitation will take place Monday, January 4, 2020 from 6 P.M. to & 7 P.M. at Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas. A rosary will be held 10:30 A.M. the following day, January 5th, with a funeral mass at 11 A.M. at St Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church, Buffalo, Texas. Father Luis Roncancio, pastor of the church, will officiate the service. Interment will be in Lummus Cemetery in the Flo Community of Leon County, Texas.
Thomas Richard Rayborn, Sr. was born to Lawrence & Eunice (Stevens) Rayborn July 19, 1931 in Wisner, Louisiana. He was a truck driver and had lived in Buffalo since 1963. Known by many as “WideTrack,” he was the owner of Brewer Service Station and WideTrack Tires. He was also a Tex Pack Agent for several years. WideTrack enjoyed a good cup of coffee while talking with friends. If you ever bought a cup of coffee for WideTrack, you found yourself a friend for life. WideTrack was a devoted husband and father. He cared for his wife, Mildred, twenty-four hours a day when she contracted Polio and after her recovery when she was unable to walk again.
WideTrack was preceded in death by both of his parents; wife, Mildred Rose Rayborn; daughter, Roseanne Gilbreath; sisters, Jean and Bobbie and an infant sister. He is survived by sons, Thomas Rayborn, Jr. (Marlene) of Ankeny, IA, Lawrence Paul Rayborn (Mary) of Sugar Land, Michael Rayborn of Buffalo and Alan Rayborn (Christie) of Buffalo; daughter, Barbara Lynn Williams (George) of Buffalo; brother, Ralph Edward Rayborn of Gilbert, LA and grandchildren, Benjamin James Rayborn, Jasmine Bonner, Jessica Burke, Jordan Jackson, Jaelyn Mincey, Dianna Lynn Neason, Adam J. Williams, Kaylen Page and Austin Rayborn. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.
