Thomas Edward Harcrow, Sr. passed away on the 2nd day of November, 2018. He was eighty-nine years old, born on August 14, 1929 to Eva Graham Harcrow & Jesse Harcrow.
Tom graduated from Buffalo High School and then served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953. He was stationed in Alaska during that time.
Returning to Leon County in 1953, Tom poured his full energy for the rest of his days into his work on the land that had been in his family for generations.
Volumes could be written about the challenges he faced, his successes, and all the twists and turns of his endeavors as a farmer, rancher, and store owner; but Tom would likely prefer that we remember him as the humble man who worked hard every day and used his natural instinct of right and wrong to meet the challenges of life.
Tom never found much use for sitting still; he walked as fast as possible at all times because there was always work to be done. An no one should ever need to wait for him.
He started his days early and always with a purpose. He left a legacy of hard work, honesty, fairness, and special memories. The smallest of his expressions and gestures and the greatness of his presence are already missed.
Tom is survived by his wife of sixty-seven years, Susie Mae; his children, Deborah Ferrari and her husband, Richard; Thomas Edward Harcrow, Jr. and his wife, Kathryn; and his grandchildren, Christina Ferrari and her husband, Brandon; Tony Ferrari and his wife, Julie; and Lee Harcrow and his wife, Heather.
To complete the Circle of Life, Tom is survived by his great-granddaughter, Penelope Mae Harcrow, born on the 2nd day of November, 2018.
A visitation will be held from 5 o’clock to 7 o’clock in the evening of Tuesday, the 6th of November, 2018 at the Walters’ Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas.
