Vernon Leon Page was born January 16, 1944 to Elbert Leon and Willie Dean (Congelton) Page. He had three sons, Tommy Page of Centerville, Joe Page of Flynn and Elbert Page of Leona.
Vernon was a long time carpenter and enjoyed doing this work. Vernon often stated that, "if being a carpenter was good enough for Jesus, it is good enough for me, too." Vernon crossed paths with many Leon County residents throughout the years having built homes for many of them that are still standing today.
Vernon was married to Susan Miller Page in 1962 and shortly after being married, Tommy was born. Joe and Elbert followed, thereafter. Vernon divorced Susan Page after thirty-seven years. Vernon was married to Julie Page from 2007 until the time of his death on December 26, 2022 surrounded by loved ones. They had lived in the Weedon Addition located west of Buffalo, Texas.
Vernon was preceded in death by both of his parents; siblings, Peggy Henry, April Knight, Martha Land, Mary Brock and David Page and grandson, Travis Page.
Surviving family members include wife, Julie Page of Buffalo; sons, Tommy (Melinda) Page; Joe (Julia) Page and Elbert (Cindy) Page; step-daughters, Amanda Swarthout (Jesus Sotelo), Angie Crawford (Allen Kennon) and Abby Swarthout; grandchildren, Amber Page, Spring (Brandon) Shirley, Sierra Page (Reece Scales), Jessica Rust (Chad McLaughlin), Clayton DeBorde, Bryan (Kaylen) Page, Stacey (Eddie) Clark, Cody (Blessie) Page, Sky (Orlando) Almaguer, Emily Page, Ally Sotelo, Alejandra Sotelo, Josie Sotelo, Jesus Sotelo, and Nathan Crawford. Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Bailee, Brylan, Brooklyn, Buffy, Zaydee, Layton, Kailey Brylenn, Brett, Braxon, Cayden, Audrie, Cheyenne, Jassie, Caden, Selena and Chelsea.
Funeral services for Vernon will be held 10 A.M., Friday, December 30, 2022 at Walters' Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas. Interment will follow in Siloam Cemetery in rural Leon County, Texas. A time of visitation and fellowship will take place Thursday, December 29th from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Walters' Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas.
