Virgil Wayne Barnett

Virgil Barnett, age 76, a lifelong resident of Flo, Texas, passed away December 15, 2022 at his home in Flo. Funeral services honoring his life will take place 2 P.M., Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at the Barnett Residence, 9797 CR 283, Buffalo, Texas 75831. Bro. Jack Smith will officiate the service. A committal service will follow in the Barnett Family Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held Tuesday, December 20th from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Walters' Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas.

Virgil Wayne Barnett was born November 4, 1946 in Flo, Texas to Joe Evan & Irene (Hoyt) Barnett. Except for the time Virgil served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam, he lived in Flo his entire life. Virgil was a talented man who held many job titles, such as roughneck, mechanic, carpenter and logger. He enjoyed being outdoors, whether working or playing and enjoyed hunting, fishing and searching for arrowheads. Virgil also enjoyed being around his large family and quality time spent with them.

Virgil was preceded in death by both of his parents; first wife, Teneta Barnett and brothers, Joe Kindall & Ronnie Dale Barnett.

Surviving family members include wife, Debbie Barnett of Flo; children, Anna Williams of Tennessee Colony, Jasper Barnett (Carmen) of Lovelady, William Barnett (Melissa) of Oakwood, Reene Bean (Rodney) of Kirvin and Kristopher Barnett of Flo; step-daughter, Melissa Lopez (Orlando) of Melborne, FL; grandchildren, Randy Jones (Robin), Montey Jones (Alicia), Hope Barnett (fiance, Caleb Hall), Hanna Barnett, William Barnett, Jr. (Abigail), Melaine Barnett, Kaeley Bean, Tanner Bean, Yancey Bean, Karlie Barnett and Hagen Barnett; step-grandchildren, Michela Morris, Jacob Maddox and Orlando Lopez, III; great-grandchildren, Charlie Jones, Kindall Jones, Robert Jones, Nicole Jones, Thomas Jowayne Schultz, Cody Barnett and Ava Lynn D'Angiolillo, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
