William Walton Stafford, Jr.

William Walton "Billy" Stafford, Jr., was born November 16, 1947, in Mexia, Texas to William Walton, Sr. and Alta Lee Stafford. He passed away November 2, 2024 in Groesbeck, Texas.

Billy accepted Jesus Christ as his LORD and Savior as a teenager, and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church at the time of his passing. 

Billy grew up and spent his entire life in and around Buffalo, and graduated Buffalo High School. Shortly after graduation, Billy was drafted into the United States Army and served faithfully and proudly with the 1st Battalion, 4th Infantry, Company C, in The Central Highlands of Vietnam.

Upon completing his military service, Billy returned to Buffalo and worked until his retirement.

Billy enjoyed special occasions with family and close friends. He also enjoyed watching sports and westerns on television.

Billy was fiercely loyal to his LORD, his family and friends, and his country. He is survived by his brothers, Eddie of Mesquite and James (wife, Cheryl) of Marquez; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

A graveside service to honor Billy's life will be held 10 A.M., Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Buffalo Cemetery, Buffalo, Texas. Rev. Ray Grissett, pastor of Bethel Baptist Church, will officiate the service. 

Final arrangements are under the direction of Walters' Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas.
